  1. Fetha Styx has their factory seconds sale. From now to who knows when. Their Homewater series rods are made by North Folk Composite, Gary Loomis's new company... anyway. These rods regular price $299 in stores, they are selling them $200 plus tax. You will just have to drive to Redmond their factory to get them. For more details, go to their website.

  2. Abu Garcia released their new 2013 version of Revo baitcasters, so all previous versions are instantly on sale at stores. For Revo STX, it's around $140, which is a pretty good price.

  3. If you are looking for a light spinning reel. Check out the Pflueger Patriarch! It's so light and made out of magnesium I think. Great for fresh water but should keep away from salt I think. A lot of places sell them for about $199, but I think Sportco has them for $169.

  4. Sportco has the Lamiglas G200 rods on sale for $64 I think. Going with my memory here. The deal is good until mid next month. Last time I was there, they still have some that has Fuji reel seat (labeled Fuji instead of Lamiglas). I was told these ones were built with more expensive G1000 blanks (they had G200 blank shortage at the time). So if you can still find these rods, it's a great bargain! My friend M bought his before Christmas last year, it's a 8-12lb 8'6" medium. He used it for everything, kings and silvers. The rod is still going strong. I was very impressed.

  5. Shimano introduced Sahara FE spinning reels, so the Sahara FD reels are now discontinued and are on sale at Cabelas now. If you are looking for the 2500 and 4000 size, they are $49 online in clam package or more in stores with box package. You can order online and have them delivered to the local store for free I think.

  6. Auburn Sports Marine is currently clearing all their Quantum reels 50% off. Both baitcasters and spinning. I don't know much about the brand reliability, but for the price, they are bargain! So, get over there before they are gone! The Quantum Smoke looks pretty decent!

  7. I think Fenwick Elite Tech rods, which came out this year are pretty good buys. Although they are not the lightest rods out there, but they feel nice in hand. I think they can be a good value if you are looking for a rod.
